Although some of the details remain proprietary knowledge, the company is pleased to announce that it has developed special laser-cutting and abrasion methods which now permit maximum precision production of both tensile-loaded and reverse-acting bursting disks. After years of research the manufacturer‘s engineers have refined the known methods, setting entirely new standards in bursting tolerances. Extremely clean cuts and notches allow minimum tolerances and extraordinary levels of resistance. Instead of attacking the bursting disk material with chemicals, as has been common practice, a careful 3D contour precision lasering method called CPL-3 is used to introduce the relevant bursting points – surgically, as it were – into the spherical cap of the bursting membrane. The result is a much longer service life and optimum opening characteristics. For operators, the principal benefit is a reduction of downtimes.
