Energy-Saving Alternative to Centrifugal Pumps

L3NX Screw Pump

01.05.2015 The L3NX screw pump from Leistritz is the world's first screw pump of ISO 2858 geometry. The pump has the same geometrical dimensions as standard centrifugal and chemical pumps but is made completely of stainless steel and can be sealed with mechanical seals or by using a magnetic clutch.

The pump is thus suited for use with corrosive and toxic fluids. Compared to the centrifugal pump, the new screw pump achieves considerably higher efficiency in the specific rotational speed range of 1:20 – even when conveying fluids similar to water. The pump is equipped with only two static seals in order to reduce the risk of leakage. Due to the O-rings and the magnetically coupled shaft seal, it is compliant with the German Clean Air Act (TA-Luft). It has a hydrostatically balanced spindle package and therefore does not require an extra bearing. The pump is easy to maintain. The complete liner unit can be replaced if necessary without having to remove the pump from the system.
