On driving forward into a narrow aisle, the mast can be rotated either to the left or right to deposit or pick pallets. Needing just the same amount of space as required for an automated high bay storage system, this method offers additional flexibility comparable to that of a manually operated warehouse. This space saving method is particularly advantageous for operations with relatively low goods in/out frequencies. A guided rail system fitted to either side of the racking facilitates the movement of the trucks down the aisles, leaving the driver free to concentrate on the movement of the pallets, which is also made easier by the installation of a lift height indicator. The duplex rotating mast enables lift heights of up to 6.4 m with load capacities of 1,500 kg. The system has been tested and certified by the PTB Braunschweig according to Atex directives for operation in the Gas-Ex-Zone 1.
