Steam Raised by Waste Heat
Oschatz is a specialist in the area of waste heat systems for cooling processing gases in nitric acid, caprolactam, and hydroxylamine plants.
Upon entering the cooler, the process gas is optimally distributed in the burner head where the ammonia present is catalytically oxidised using air or oxygen. The nitric oxide gas thus produced reaches temperatures of up to 950 °C and is then cooled to a temperature of 500 to 180 °C, depending on process requirements. The thermal energy in the gas is used to produce industrially utilisable steam. Process gas coolers for downstream combustion of ammonia can be used in plants of all sizes and with all types of catalyst gauze clamping systems. The provider designs and builds process gas coolers for gas volume flows of up to 230,000 Nm3/h and a gas pressure of 12 bar.
