The valve is especially suitable for use in applications in which machines, storage tanks, agitator vessels and centrifuges are rendered inert. When used for underpressure protection of machinery and apparatus the valve is installed on the underpressure side. The valve provides safe control of processes, especially at low pressures, through customized adjustable opening pressures between 500 and 10,000 Pa (50 and 1,000 mm water column). The pressure retention valve is readily installed  in an existing pipe by means of DIN flanges, sizes DN25, DN40 and DN50, all in PN10. Users can choose between the materials PE, PP and PVDF which are all available as standard stock items. In addition the manufacturer offers electrically conductive, PTFE and stainless steel 1.4404 versions. Other material variations are also possible on request. Owing to the valve‘s unique closed design, the medium remains within the process and can be controlled. Unlike most safety release valves, the drained medium, which can possibly contain harmful components, is not released uncontrolled into the environment. The valve permits the user to convey the released medium to an area where the blow process/opening of the valve can take place and the medium can be disposed of safely.
