Expanded Drying and Pastillation Capacity

14.05.2018 Chemical service provider ProChem GmbH has installed four new vacuum paddle dryers at its Oberthal and Dieburg sites (combined capacity now 10 t/d) and plans to install a pastillation belt for high-viscosity substances at Bensheim by the end of 2018.

Facts for Decision Makers:

  • expanded vacuum paddle dryer capacity
  • GMP plus quality spray drying
  • pastillation of  high-viscosity substances

Typically, the vacuum paddle dryers are used to dry imported raw material after it has been cleaned by recrystallization.  The dryers can be equipped optionally with choppers and coupled with milling and sieving facilities to ensure defined grain sizing. Currently, ProChem is able to accomplish pastillation of material with a viscosity of up to 1000 mPas at temperatures up to 200 °C at its Bensheim facility. This site has a large selection of pin-, hammer-, classifier- and air jet-mills, as well as a large variety of sieves and mixers. Here the custom manufacturing portfolio was recently extended to include spray driers, one of  which will now be upgraded to the GMP plus quality level by complete separation of the material stream, so that it will be suitable for animal food additives.
